      • Any tips or advice to other makers? True sizing, made the M and moved the button a little. Used 2 jeans buttons in stead of snaps

      Apron happiness

I loved using this pattern. I found the instructions easy to follow and the sizing was accurate. I’ve had amazing feedback when wearing the dress including that it looks shop-bought. I think that’s a credit to the pattern which gives you all the tips for making the dress look professional.

      Solid pattern!

The instructions and pattern pieces were well done and easy to follow. This was my first attempt at this pattern and I used leftover upholstery fabric from some old curtains - like Maria von Trapp - as my dry run. The construction of this dress is solid - reinforced seams and bar tacks all over the place. It's comfortable and utilitarian, the pockets are expansive - I can fit my Kindle in one pocket and my enormous mobile phone in the other. I love that it's a metric pattern, despite being from the US and raised with the Imperial system my brain understands the Metric system much more intuitively. My second version of this dress will be using a railroad stripe indigo denim which will have a bit more drape than the upholstery fabric I used the first time around! Overall I love this pattern!

      • Any tips or advice to other makers? I noticed that there is no instruction to overlock the bottom edge of the skirt - so I added a step 5F - overlock bottom skirt edge. And I added a step 6E - to overlock the ends of the braces. Also I didn’t understand the purpose of step 9A, so I skipped that step on my second version of the dress.

My favourite assembly line so far

I LOVE assembly line patterns. They are the best in terms of clarity of instructions and the finished garment always fits well and looks like the picture.

Boy this was a fun make....very easy to sew, and ofcourse very easy to follow instructions. Like all TAL patterns, a perfect fit. Love the ginormous pockets and the diagonal seams in the front. Made it in a heavy weight jean, distressed it et voila....another favorite.....
