The experience was overall excellent, same good experience like I had making the TAL jumpsuit! The only thing I was very confused about was the illustration of the finished parka. In the picture there are two topstiched seams showing on the front of the sleeves. But these seams (between top and under sleeve) are situated at the back of the parka (at the elbows) and not at the front. This illustration nearly caused me taking off the sleeves of the finished parka because I thought I might had them sown them in the wrong direction. But I luckily checked #talhoodieparka and discovered from other finished TAL-parkas that this topstiched seam really does belong where I had sewned them in the first place :-)
I really like this pattern : very well done! On the other hand, I would have liked to have pictures, a tutorial or a step more complete because it was sometimes **** ! I am not bilingual, so explanations in English are sometimes difficult for me to understand. And some of the patterns weren’t very clear... In addition, my fabric (softshell) was rather difficult to sew (because thick!) But I got away with it anyway! And I’ll do it again, in a nicer, finer fabric ! Love all your patterns (I already sew The Box pleat pattern : very nice !, and I have The Tulip dress and the V-neck dress... I'm going to sew them soon !) One regret : impossible to find the paper pattern in France... what a pitty... And that will nice to traduce the explanations in French ;-)
It went well , instructions were mainly easy to follow (I had to improvise a little with the button band). I wish for an add-on for a lining:)
I haven’t yet sewn it up but excited to do so with some lovely cumin dry oilskin. It looks like the perfect parka for our eastern Canada weather
